Latest Policy and Procedure Changes

Over the course of the year, a range of policy changes, procedure updates and other modifications occur. We want to make everyone aware of these changes on a regular basis, as well as keep an archive of the announcements.

Below is the current year's changes. Pay close attention to the Effective Dates as some policy changes may not go into affect until late 2012 or 2013.



Eligibility/Application

Effective Date: January 1, 2012


Effective Date: January 30, 2012

  • All BCSP certifications will be held to the same disciplinary action policy. All applicants, candidates, and credential holders must report the following:
         1) All felony convictions
         2) Only misdemeanor convictions within the past 5 years
         3) Any record of unethical behavior
         4) Denial, suspension or revocation of a professional license or certification for reason other than
             not meeting qualifications

The following policies apply to all BCSP certifications and should be reviewed regularly by applicants, candidates and credential holders:

     Discipline Policy
     Criminal Conviction Policy
     Unauthorized Use Policy
     Appeals Policy

Examination

Effective Date: January 1, 2012

  • Occupational Health and Safety Technologist/Certified Loss Control Specialist Examination Fee Increase to  $300.
  • Certified Health and Safety Technician Examination Fee Increase to  $300.

Recertification/Renewal

Effective Date: January 1, 2012

  • Occupational Health and Safety Technologist/Certified Loss Control Specialist Renewal Fee Increase to  $120.
  • Certified Health and Safety Technician Renewal Fee Increase to  $120.
  • Associate Occupational Health and Safety Technologist/Associate Certified Loss Control Specialist Renewal Fee Increase to  $110.
  • Associate Certified Health and Safety Technician Renewal Fee Increase to  $110.
